Intan Zalani, 28, likes to think of herself as a supermom – someone who is as adept at work as she is efficient at home, as a wife and mother.

So, the Kelana Jaya-based civil servant, who has a two-year old son Mohammed Husayn Zharief, lives her dream on her blog located at http://malaysiansupermummy.blogspot.com.
Here, the 28-year-old records her daily experiences as she juggles her responsibilities at work and at home.
“My blog is targeted at Malaysian mothers. What I write revolves around my life as a mother and a wife,” said Intan who started the blog on May 1 last year.
“Initially, I thought of creating a blog on parenting and not writing too much on personal stuff. But as the blog evolved, I got carried away. Instead of just stuff on parenting, I ended up writing about my experiences as a wife, about my son’s progress, and some thoughts about making money online and even politics!”
Intan claims to receive about 2,000 visitors weekly to her blog which has also helped her to get to know other mothers as well.
She also has a Supermummy Amazing Blog Friday where she writes about women who have online shops.
“I help these women entrepreneurs promote their businesses, and in return, most of those featured offer discounts and rebates exclusively to my readers.”
To draw visitors, Intan also run contests on her blog.
“So far, the response has been great. Right now, I am running the very first Supermummy Amazing Blogger Award where readers are invited to nominate their favourite Malaysian blogger writing about parenting.
“I thought it would be a good idea since we do not have that many awards in Malaysia that recognises bloggers, especially those blogging about parenting.
“I have also secured a few prizes for the contest, so I guess this will benefit both the nominated blog as well as create publicity for the sponsors,” she said.
Keeping the blog fresh, Intan makes sure she comes up with new ideas every day.
“This can be tiring, especially after a busy day at the office, but nothing beats the feelings of satisfaction after reading comments from my readers,” she said.
Writing in English has also benefited her tremendously, Intan says.
“I had doubts in writing my blogs in English since many other blogs are in Malay language although I do write in Malay every now and then.”
If everything goes well, Intan says she plans to get her own domain name for her blog.
“I also hope to hold more contests since this is one of the best ways to attract visitors to the blog.”
