KUALA LUMPUR: Reigning overall champions Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School (SSTMI) Thunderbolts hammered SSTMI Juniors 7-0 in Friday’s Junior Hockey League (JHL) Division One match.

The league takes a break for the National Under-16 tournament on March 17-25.

SSTMI will then take on last year’s runners-up Pahang Sports School Thunderbolts on March 28.

Pahang defeated last year’s league champions Petaling Jaya City Council (PJCC) 3-1 in another match.

When told about Pahang’s win, SSTMI Thunderbolts coach Wan Roslan Wan Rahman said: "Oh really? Pahang won?

“That's news to me. And it only means that we cannot afford to take a break during the national Under-16 event.

“Our players will not be involved in the tournament, so we will use the break to improve our tactics before we face Pahang," said Wan Roslan.

The other Thunderbolts teams in the league are Bukit Jalil Sports School and Anderson of Ipoh.

RESULTS:

Division One — Pahang SS Thunderbolts 3 PJCC Tigers 1, SSTMI 0 SSTMI Thunderbolts 7.
